Today I posted a new Common Core Lesson Plan on Teachers Pay Teachers titled "Graphing Functions with Tables, Graphs, and Equations".

This lesson unit is intended to help you assess how well students are able to assess and graph functions in tables, graphs, and equations. Included in this lesson are:

-one formative assessment (pre-test) task

-card sort activity with concept development of functions

-one extension activity for students to deepen their conception of functions

-one summative assessment (post-test) task

-answer keys for all the assessments and activities

-how the lesson is tied to common core and mathematical practices

About this activity:

Grade Level: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Estimated Class time: 5-10 minutes.
Materials required: Overhead or Chalkboard or Whiteboard and writing utensil for teacher only.

This activity is a great game for end of the class period when your lesson goes too short or fast, or a game to play around the holidays, or around testing time of year, or the end of the year.

Let's Play: The Pyramid Game

Today I posted a new game on Teachers Pay Teachers titled "The Pyramid Game PowerPoint".

 

 

 

This educational game is a way for students to review key words or concepts from a unit and make connections between them. Students deepen their comprehension by describing concepts in as much detail as possible to another classmate. This is a great review game after learning vocabulary, reviewing for a test, or to increase vocabulary.
